A Guide to FS25ModZone's Mod Categories
With a couple thousand mods on the site, browsing by category is usually faster than scrolling the full list — here's what's actually in each one. Tractors, Harvesters and Trucks are the big three vehicle categories, and mostly what they sound like: everything from small utility tractors to full combine harvesters and heavy trucks for hauling. Trailers covers anything towed — grain trailers, forage wagons, auger wagons, bale trailers, log trailers, all of it. Tools is the catch-all for implements that attach to a tractor rather than driving on their own: seeders, planters, sprayers, cultivators, plows, mowers, balers, and similar equipment. Cars is exactly that — passenger vehicles, pickups, and anything else that isn't farm equipment but you might still want driving around your map. Forestry covers logging machines and forestry-specific implements, kept separate from general Tools since it's a big enough category on its own. Buildings and Placeables cover structures you place on your farm — everything from sheds and silos to animal housing and decorative objects. Maps are full custom maps to play on, separate from everything else since they replace your whole farm rather than adding one piece of equipment to it. Scripts and Gameplay are for mods that change how the game behaves rather than adding a physical object — new mechanics, UI changes, quality-of-life tweaks, that kind of thing. Packs is for mods bundling multiple related items together — a manufacturer's whole equipment lineup in one download, for example. And Other is exactly what it sounds like: anything that doesn't cleanly fit the categories above. If you ever land on a mod that feels miscategorized, that's useful to know — the Report Abuse button on the mod's page is the quickest way to flag it, and we do go through and fix these by hand.
