Tips for Finding the Right Mod for Your Farm

With thousands of mods to choose from, finding the right one for your save can take longer than actually installing it. A few things that help. Start with search, not browsing. If you know roughly what you want — a brand, a machine type, a specific feature — the search bar at the top of the site is faster than paging through a category. Searching "John Deere" or "seeder" will get you there quicker than scrolling. Use categories to narrow things down, then sort by what's new. Once you're in a category, the newest mods are listed first, so if you check back on a category you like every so often, you'll naturally see what's been added since last time. Read past the screenshots. Screenshots tell you what a mod looks like, but the description is where you'll find the actual details — working width, price, required horsepower, configuration options, known compatibility notes. It's worth the extra ten seconds before downloading. Check the comments. Comments on a mod's page are often the most honest source of information you'll get — other players flagging bugs, confirming a mod works with a particular map, or asking questions the description didn't answer. If a mod has active comments, skim them before you commit. Look at "Similar mods." Every mod page shows related mods in the same category. If the first thing you clicked on isn't quite right, this is usually a faster way to find something closer to what you actually wanted than starting a new search. Don't ignore Credits. Where we have it, the Credits section tells you who actually made the mod. If you end up using something regularly, that's who deserves the thanks — and often the destination if you have feedback on how it plays. If you go through all of that and still can't find what you're after, that's genuinely useful for us to know — it's exactly the kind of gap we watch for when deciding what to add next.
